SvS Kill Event Basic Information
Kill Event are fighting events that occur once every month or so, depending on the kill events, there can be different valid strategies to take. Please let us know if we have missed anything!
To participate in SvS kill events, you must do so during the event period. The game usually announce it on Monday with a “coming soon” blog post, and finalize the date on a Thursday. However, you do not know the actual scoring rules nor state that you are fighting with until the day of the event.
When the kill event is active, you can use Advanced Teleport to enemy states and enemy can do so as well. Each advanced teleport act as a “passport” which allows you a window of 1 hour to reside in enemy state. If you are not sure how, please check out the basic teleport guide.
There are three main ways that a Kill Event may award you with scores. You will have to check the actual challenge information to learn about it. But here are general kill event scoring methods. Depending on the actual challenge, you may change your strategy a little bit. However, they all revolve around proper troop composition and playing defensively to achieve higher kill death ratio.
1. Power Destroyed
In this scoring mode, you earn points for every power that you destroy. Your goal is to land kills against enemy’s high tier units because they weigh significantly more points than lower tier counter parts.
2. Troops Killed or Hospitalized
In this scoring mode, you will earn points based on the number of troops killed or wounded (placed in hospital). You earn significantly more points for killing troops. You also earn much higher points for higher tier units.
3. Enemy Control Point Occupation
When this point system is available, the state should do their best to secure and defend their own control points. Losing the control point can give away many points within the span of time.
Understanding the Core Idea of SvS Kill Event
The kill event is essentially a competition of points, by suffering less losses (giving points away), and dealing more damage, you will have net point gains which secure you the SvS win. However, if you have a handful of inexperienced players who are unshielded or even farming on tiles, they will give away “free points” and jeopardize the entire state.
Health of the State and Corresponding Strategy
Most of the states that you encounter or occupy in go through these three phases. Depending on the your own situation and the state of enemy, you may have to deal with kill events in different ways. In general, if you are a big or a powerhouse player from a top alliance, your job will simply to kill as many as you can.
1. Multiple Powerhouses a.k.a. Strong Warring State & Spenders
This is usually the start of a new state where 2 or more alliances battle for power and control of CP. You have feuding alliances that consistently battle each other on a daily basis. However, during SvS KE, the most important part is for the powerhouse alliances to work together against the outside forces. Trying to sabotage one another during a KE can lead to catastrophic results.
2. Ruling Alliance with Multiple Smaller Alliances
This stage occurs between 3 month to 1 year of the state’s existence. Many players old or new will quit, and the state will usually have a ruling alliance or family that control the power and rules of the state. The most important part for the ruling alliance is not to go out and kill everyone on sight, this can speed up the process of transitioning into phase 3 and results in many future losses. For example, consistently zeroing of bases outside of proper purge period can be harmful to the health of the state.
3. Consolidated Alliance and Dead Population
During this stage, your goal is to round up any remaining players of the state, and put everyone into 1 or 2 alliances if possible. Make sure that all existing players know their roles and work together. When the kill event features states with lower populations, any points loss or earned can be significant to help you win.
Purge – Kill Event Basic Strategy
Purging is an important part of kill event game play strategy to help the state. Purging is done by attacking all unshielded bases and tile gathering troops. By killing off the inactive bases and removing low hanging fruits available for the enemy, you effectively reduce the amount of easy points available for the enemies. In addition, it is a good time for you to take all the RSS within your state instead of giving them away to enemy when they plunder yours.
Every effective State should implement a purge period roughly 2~3 hours before the state KE to ensure successful purge. If the players cannot follow the purge schedule, chances are that they are much weaker players who will simply give points away during kill events.
Avoid Any Forms of Civil War during Active KE
The powers destroyed within your State by your own State residents will still count towards “points” of the opposing state. This includes fights that occur within your or enemy states. This means that you should avoid attacking anyone within your state during KE. Work together as a team and win the war!
Getting Easy Kills for Kill Event Points
The easiest way to get good scores on KE is to look for farming tiles. Teleport into enemy state and start taking out anyone brave enough to gather. You will for sure gain a ton of points and kills if you find enough targets.
Next, look for bases that are inactive with their owners not around. Sometimes enemies can place their shield right before your attack lands, which cause you to lose valuable time.
Because the time that you have at enemy state territory is limited, consider scout the bases and pinpoint potential kills before you march your troops.
Finding Your Proper Targets in a KE
The key to win KE easily is by taking out targets much smaller than you. Target bases whose HQ and power rating is smaller than you. Your goal is to get a net positive gain on the KE points, instead of just to see how much you can destroy. If you destroy 100k power while getting 100k power destroyed yourself, then you really earn nothing from your attack.
Rally for Success
There are many cases where you have to fight bases of your same power. When this is the case, consider coordinating with a group of player and rally those bases. Consider always rally against targets of same size or slightly bigger so that you lose less points while killing more.
Run from Big Enemies
When caught with a big enemy ported in on you, your best course is to shield up right away or run. There is little point to try and fight to lose points along the way.
Communicate and Ask for Help
During KE, communicate and use state coord room if there is one. When you are faced with enemies that you cannot beat, call for help and let someone else come and do the job. However, avoid pointing on state chats as they can easily seen by “spies”. The reverse is true, you may consider to join the enemy alliance with a “fake” account so that you can monitor their state chats.
Watch Out for Trap Account
Lastly, watch out for trap accounts that are specifically designed to play defensively while landing kills. Consider checking the bases profiles to get a handle with the kill ratio before attacking.
